Pipe Repair products offer a fast, safe way to seal splits, holes, and corroded sections instantly – often under full system pressure – avoiding the need for expensive and time-consuming network shutdowns.
UltraGrip Amplified Reducing Couplings connect pipes of differing diameters with wide-tolerance restraint, delivering full Type 2 end-load performance for PE, 8° angularity, and eliminates the need for thrust blocks for high-performance repair and maintenance applications.
When using on PE & PVC-O pipes, a Viking Johnson support liner is required.

Exceptional Versatility for Large Scale Infrastructure
Larger Sizes with High Pressure Performance
The UltraGrip Amplified series DN700 to DN1200 ideal for major new-lay and infrastructure projects. The fittings are available in 10 bar and 16 bar pressure ratings.
Multi-Pipe Material Connections
Suitable for water and wastewater networks above or below ground, UltraGrip connects ductile iron, cast iron, steel, PE, MOPVC and asbestos cement pipes.
Wide Tolerance
A market-leading 35 mm tolerance enables reliable connection to distorted or out-of-round pipes. The design accommodates manufacturing variances and connects spigot ends or mid-barrel ductile iron pipes, as well as class AB and CD cast iron.
Integrated Restraining System
UltraGrip’s gripping mechanism delivers full end restraint accommodating tensile loads from internal pressure, and in the case of PE pipe from the ‘Poisson effect’ due to pressure and temperature changes, eliminating the need for expensive concrete thrust blocks.
High-performance Gasket Design
The range uses a proven wide-tolerance gasket that maintains sealing pressure on scored, pitted or corroded pipe surfaces, ensuring long-term performance.
Simplified Installation
Pre-assembled units, incorporating lifting eyes and captive studs, enable quick installation in confined trenches, with only a torque wrench needed to complete installation. No re-torque is needed after initial tightening.
Why Choose UltraGrip Amplified Reducing Coupling

Design Benefits
UltraGrip Amplified Restraint System
Equipped with a unique gripping technology that allows consulting engineers to design more cost effective pipelines, without the need for external restraints, like for example thrust blocks.
Increased Flexibility
4° angularity at each end allows bends to be designed into pipe networks and to join misaligned pipes in the ground.
No Leakages
A proven, high performance wide tolerance, EPDM gasket technology which Viking Johnson has been using in their products for the water industry over the last 40 years.
Ease of Handling
Installation made simple with incorporated lifting eyes for ease of manoeuvrability.
Simple to Fit
Supplied with captive studs, these can be bolted up by a technician using a single spanner making UltraGrip ideal for use in all trench conditions. Plus there is no requirement to re-torque or revisit after initial bolt-up.
