Pipe Repair products offer a fast, safe way to seal splits, holes, and corroded sections instantly – often under full system pressure – avoiding the need for expensive and time-consuming network shutdowns.
For more than 90 years, Viking Johnson has been designing and manufacturing high performance pipe fittings and flow control products that help customers build reliable, long-lasting pipeline networks.
From couplings and flange adaptors to specialist large-diameter solutions, every product is engineered with a focus on durability, performance and a 50-year design life. Industry standards form the foundation of our approach, but our commitment to quality goes further through rigorous in-house testing, advanced manufacturing processes and continuous investment in our facilities.

Engineered for Product Integrity
Engineered for Product Integrity
Delivering long-term pipeline reliability requires more than quality materials. Viking Johnson employs specialised manufacturing techniques to ensure every product achieves the highest levels of structural integrity and dimensional accuracy.
Flash But Welding
Viking Johnson is one of the few manufacturers worldwide to use Flash Butt Welding to join sleeves and rings, creating seamless, structurally sound products with exceptional strength and dimensional stability.
This advanced welding process produces clean, oxide-free joints with deep weld penetration and low defect rates, helping to ensure long-term reliability and reduce the need for future pipe repairs.
Where Flash Butt Welding is not appropriate, Submerged Arc Welding is used to maintain high standards of quality and performance.

Cold Expansion
A theoretically sound weld is not sufficient and Viking Johnson (in line with AWWA C219 standards) goes a step further by cold expanding all welded sections. This not only tests the integrity of the weld but also:
100% tests the metal in the section
Ensures that the section is circular & repeatedly so
Increases the strength of the piece through work hardening
Viking Johnsonโs drive for product integrity not only removes the risk of product/performance variation but looks at the wider product integrity to exceed expectations.

Gasket Sealing
Regardless of whether a coupling is dedicated or wide tolerance or how it grips a pipe, the seal is generally from the compression of an annular gasket. The more dimensionally stable the rings, the more repeatable the quality the more consistent the compression of the gasket becomes. The benefit to the customer is minimising the possibility of leakage, resulting in product loss, environmental damage and pipe repair costs.

Advanced Coating Technology
Advanced Coating Technology
Long-term performance also depends on effective corrosion protection.
The majority of products are protected with Rilsanยฎ nylon coating, a high-performance, environmentally responsible coating derived from renewable castor oil.
Coating Process
Selected for its exceptional corrosion resistance, flexibility and impact strength, Rilsanยฎ helps protect products in demanding operating environments while maintaining water quality and meeting leading international drinking water approvals and standards.
To maximise durability, Viking Johnson products undergo carefully controlled surface preparation and coating processes, including:
Shot Blasting
Couplings and other pipe fittings are dismantled and all component parts exposed to full shot blasting to provide an optimum cleaned surface for complete coating adhesion.
Product Priming
A dedicated booth ensures complete priming of components, prior to Rilsanยฎ coating, ensuring absolute coverage and adhesion.
Indexing Oven
A 13 table indexing oven which provides a controlled temperature to heat components to support accurate coating applications across a wide variety of part geometry.
