Pipe Repair products offer a fast, safe way to seal splits, holes, and corroded sections instantly – often under full system pressure – avoiding the need for expensive and time-consuming network shutdowns.
EasiTap (Hinged) provides fast under-pressure branch connections without shutdown, combining hinged installation ease, maintained pipe strength, and a durable waffle gasket seal for reliable performance on ageing pipelines.

Pipe Materials Caveats
EasiTap (Hinged)
Caveat 1
Due to the characteristics of PE pipe, Viking Johnson does not recommend the use of repair clamps on this pipe material.
Caveat 2
EasiTap are not suitable for use on heating systems with fluctuating temperatures.
Caveat 3
While hinge means installation time is quicker, with only two bolts there is limited scope to re-align fractured pipe making this more suitable for pinhole corrosion, impact damage and longitudinal fractures.

Fast Repair Tapping Solution
Avoids costly shutdowns
EasiTap (Hinged) has a threaded tapping outlet (off-take port) engineered to create a new branch connection or attach service lines without interrupting pipeline operation. It enables controlled fluid extraction or system expansion while maintaining pipeline integrity, eliminating the need for shutdowns or cutting into the existing line.
Unique Hinged Design for Under Pressure Repairs
The EasiTap (Hinged) is available for pipe sizes DN80, DN100 and DN150. It uses two connected halves that fully open, allowing rapid placement over the pipe. Once positioned, the halves close under their own weight and are secured by self-retaining bolts, eliminating the need to manually align separate clamp sections.
Permanent Sealing Performance
EasiTap (Hinged) delivers a permanent, leak-tight seal even on heavily corroded pipe surfaces. Their 100% circumferential EPDM ‘Waffle’ gasket accommodates both longitudinal and circumferential cracks. The WRAS-approved EPDM gasket supports 16 bar working pressure and 24 bar site test pressure.
Wide Tolerance Range
EasiTap (Hinged) covers multiple pipe materials of the same nominal bore. This reduces stockholding requirements and simplifies inventory management.
High Strength Construction
Using ductile/malleable iron or steel half housings, optimised through modern design techniques to reduce raw material use, EasiTap provides full-length support, restoring cracked pipes to its original strength.
Quick Efficient Installation
EasiTap (Hinged) can be installed under pressure and in any weather, avoiding costly shutdowns. The single-piece installation reduces the time an operator spends near a damaged pipe. However, with only two bolts, the clamp offers limited realignment capability, making it best suited for pinhole corrosion, impact damage and longitudinal fractures rather than complex pipe breaks. Installation requires no specialist tools just a torque wrench to verify correct bolt loading.
Trench-side Installation
EasiTap (Hinged) has integrated lugs that allow attachment to trench side installation tools. This removes the need for personnel to enter the excavation, improving safety and operational efficiency.
Why Choose EasiTap (Hinged)
Zero customer disruption – Installed under pressure, no need to turn off supply.
Trench side installation – Minimised health & safety risks to operatives
No dirty-water issues – Keeps quality complaints off the table.
Works in tight pipe clusters – Ideal when space is limited.
Leak-tight permanent seal – Handles both circumferential and longitudinal cracks.
50-year design life – Undergone intensive performance testing to ensure the strength and integrity.
Rilsan coating – Provides exceptional protection against corrosion, impact, abrasion, and chemicals.
Design Benefits
Under Pressure Tapping
Drilled and tapped BSP boss or 2″ BSP threaded outlet outlet options
Exceptional Grip
The two halves are hinged, fully opening to permit quick and easy fitting on the pipe. There are no pins which removes any risk from bimetallic corrosion.
Self Locating Bolts
Patented self retaining bolts not only prevent the loss of components in the trench but also self locate allowing blind assembly. The double locking mechanism automatically locks into position once the product is fully wrapped around the pipe allowing the operator to use both hands to position over the leak.
Corrosion Protection
All cast components are fully coated in Black Rilsan Nylon 11 which has excellent resistance to impact, abrasion, weathering and chemicals as well as good thermal stability and flexibility to accommodate for rough site handling.
High Strength
The strength of the ductile iron housings will provide permanent support and seal around the pipe.
Permanent Seal
The 100% ‘Waffle’ gasket provides a reliable and permanent leak tight seal even on circumferential or longitudinal cracks.
Enhanced Lifespan
Product comes as standard with grade 4.8 steel bolts that are Sheraplex coated bolts to WIS 4-52-03 providing excellent corrosion resistance against degradation and maximizes long life
Industry Testing
Viking Johnson products undergo intensive performance testing to ensure the strength and integrity of all products meet industry standards.
• Accelerated Ageing Tests (AAT) to verify 50 year design life expectancy.
• EasiRange has been tested on knurled and grooved pipe work to match typical pipe conditions found on many sites around the world.
