Overview
A Robust, High Performance Solution
The UltraGrip range is designed to support both new pipeline installations and the repair and maintenance of existing networks across DN40 to DN600 sizes. It offers a robust, high-performance solution for joining plain-ended pipes, delivering secure grip, dependable sealing and proven end load restraint across materials including cast iron, ductile iron, steel, PVC and PE. From planned infrastructure projects to demanding repair environments, UltraGrip is engineered to perform consistently in real-world conditions where reliability, pipe variability and ease of installation are critical.
At the core of UltraGrip is its progressive gripping mechanism, which increases restraint as internal pipeline pressure rises. This ensures the joint remains secure under normal operation, surge conditions and pressure fluctuations. A single gripper system is used across all compatible pipe materials, simplifying specification and installation. The grippers can also be removed where a flexible, non-restrained connection is required, providing additional versatility on site.

UltraGrip Provides a Practical Solution for Pipeline Repair
Its ability to grip and seal on damaged, corroded or irregular surfaces makes it well suited to maintaining network integrity in challenging conditions. Combined with its wide tolerance design, this enables faster, more efficient repairs with fewer product variations required on site. The range up to DN600 further allows a single, proven technology to be used across both distribution and larger diameter pipelines, supporting consistency in specification and installation practice.
UltraGrip Offers Ultimate Wide Tolerance & Gripping Technology
Wide tolerance capability is a defining feature of the range. UltraGrip fittings are designed to accommodate significant pipe outside diameter variation, allowing them to perform effectively on pipes affected by corrosion, ovality or manufacturing differences. This reduces the need for precise pipe matching and means fewer product sizes are required to cover a wider range of applications. For operators and contractors, this helps reduce stockholding while improving responsiveness, particularly in repair and emergency situations.
Installation has been engineered to be straightforward and efficient. Products are supplied pre-assembled, enabling quick positioning onto the pipe.
Reversible captive bolts allow installation using a single spanner, while the intelligent carrier system keeps the seal and grippers aligned, ensuring smooth placement without component movement. This makes UltraGrip particularly effective in confined spaces or difficult trench conditions where speed and ease of handling are critical.
This combination of speed and versatility is further enhanced by a wide tolerance sealing system, which allows the QuickFit range to accommodate variations in pipe outside diameters often found in ageing or non-standard infrastructure.
Durability and long-term performance are supported through robust materials and protective coatings.
Metal components are protected with Rilsan Nylon 11 to provide corrosion resistance, while fasteners are treated to maintain reliability during tightening.
Hygiene caps help keep the product clean prior to installation, supporting use in potable water applications.
The range has been tested extensively to ensure strength, integrity and long design life, giving confidence in both new installations and repair applications.
About The UltraGrip Range
UltraGrip Coupling
The UltraGrip Coupling provides a dependable method of joining two plain-ended pipes, delivering a secure grip and pressure-tight seal across a wide tolerance range, making it particularly effective for both new installations and emergency repairs on corroded or damaged pipelines.
UltraGrip Flange Adaptor
The UltraGrip Flange Adaptor enables the connection of plain-ended pipe to flanged assets such as valves, meters and pumps, creating a restrained and reliable interface that simplifies integration into existing infrastructure.
UltraGrip Reducing Coupling
The UltraGrip Reducing Coupling is designed to connect pipes of different diameters while maintaining the same high levels of sealing and restraint, offering a practical solution where network transitions or upgrades require size changes within limited space.
UltraGrip PECAT Adaptor
The UltraGrip PECAT Adaptor provides a purpose-built transition between PE and metallic pipe systems, incorporating a factory-assembled transition joint to deliver a consistent, tested connection where mixed materials are present.
UltraGrip End Cap
The UltraGrip End Cap offers a secure means of sealing pipe ends during testing, maintenance or network isolation, ensuring safe and controlled shutdown or future system extension without compromise to sealing performance.
Together, these products form a comprehensive range that addresses most of the jointing, repair and connection requirements across water and gas networks, combining wide tolerance capability, progressive gripping performance and installation efficiency in a single, integrated system.

The UltraGrip Product Range
The UltraGrip Product Range Benefits
Simple to Fit
UltraGrip features captive, nonrotating bolts across the full range, enabling installation with a single spanner. The gasket and gripper are fully contained within the endring housing, allowing the product to slide smoothly over the pipe during positioning. Bolt orientation on both standard and reducing couplings can be reversed to suit challenging or confined site conditions, improving installation flexibility.
Progressive Gripping
The system uses progressive gripping technology that increases endload restraint as internal pipe pressure rises. Its gritbased friction mechanism mobilises axial restraint forces without damaging the pipe surface, supported by a largefootprint gripper that minimises localised stress. A single gripper design is compatible with all recommended pipe materials, ensuring broad applicability and reliable performance across installations.
Enhanced Gasket Sealing
Specially profiled gasket ensures full seal even on scored and corroded pipes. Tested on “knurled and grooved pipe”, as detailed in “Specification for Methods of Repairing Leaking Ferrous Gas Mains Part 4: Pipe Repair Clamps, Split Collars and Under Pressure Branch Connections (GIS/LC8-4):2006”, to verify the sealing capability on severely corroded and pitted pipe in low pressure gas applications.
Innovative Carrier Design
The carriers can accommodate high tolerances of pipe outside diameters – up to 54mm, with interlocking “spring” effect ensuring gasket & grippers retract so product slips over top tolerance pipe without interference.
Engineered for PE and PVC applications
Because plastic pipes are highly flexible, a closefit stainless steel internal support liner is required when using mechanical joints on PE pipes and thinwalled PVC. The liner prevents excessive deformation under load, ensuring the pipe maintains its structural integrity and the joint performs reliably.

End Cap Threaded Connectivity
The UltraGrip End Cap supports direct connection to a threaded pipe and incorporates optional radial and axial bosses to accommodate 1/2”–2” BSP outlets, enabling use as either an air inlet or airrelease point within a pressurised pipeline system

FactoryAssembled PE Transition Joint
The assembly consists of a 500 mm PE100 SDR11 pipe section designed to support two electrofusion connections, providing sufficient length and stability for reliable fusion jointing. It incorporates a Type 1 factoryfitted PEtoUltraGrip transition, engineered so that the metaltoPE bond exceeds the tensile strength of the PE pipe itself. This ensures a robust, highintegrity connection ready for direct integration into the network with consistent, repeatable performance.
